An exciting opportunity has arisen for Health Care Assistants to join our growing team on 37.5 hours per week, permanent basis.

Main responsibilities include:

• Assisting members of the multidisciplinary team in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients
• Participate in the review of patients’ care plans as appropriate in ward rounds, meetings and case conferences, in line with policies and procedures
• Reporting and recording any changes in the patient’s physical or mental condition to the nurse in charge
• Liaising with other professionals and agencies as required
• Escorting patients both internally and externally to the hospital, as required
• Endeavouring to develop sound professional relationships with patients; to promote active listening and communicate their needs to members of the multidisciplinary team

Requirements:

• NVQ Level 1 in basic nursing skills
• Literacy and Numeracy of a GCSE or equivalent standard
• Previous experience working with people with mental health problems
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Good interpersonal skills
• Readiness to accept direction
• Ability to present self in a confident manner
• Ability to prioritise tasks
• Ability to take direction
• Awareness of the level of the position being applied for
• Self-identified methods of dealing with stress
• Ability to work shifts Day/Night/Weekends, and to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business
