Description

We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated Clinical Lead in Hand Therapy with a passion for service development and clinical leadership.

What are my responsibilities in this Specialist Hand Therapist role

To work as an autonomous practitioner, within scope of practice and deliver a quality clinical service; meeting the clinical and strategic needs of the hospital.
To perform an advanced musculo-skeletal assessment of orthopaedic and plastic surgery hand patients including those with highly complex presentations and from this formulate a diagnosis and treatment plan, which is carried out as an autonomous practitioner.
To interpret and analyse clinical and non-clinical facts to form accurate diagnoses in a wide range of highly complex musculo-skeletal, plastic and orthopaedic surgery conditions.
To be highly competent in assessing a wide range of hand and plastic surgery conditions based on advanced theoretical knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology, often in situations where conflicting evidence is present
To support the development of the Hand Therapy service, striving to ensure best practice, maximum efficiency and productivity and cost effectiveness.
To supervise, initiate and participate in evidence based projects and lead in-service training sessions as required.
To supervise, initiate and participate in audit and service reviews and evaluations as appropriate.
To supervise, teach and appraise members of the Hand Therapy team as required.
