Description

We are currently looking to hire a patient focused registered Senior Theatre Practitioner to take responsibility for planning and implementing high standards of perioperative care for our patients. This position is a Fixed Term contract for 6 months and Part Time working 34.5 hours a week on a varied shift pattern.

You will be a valued member of the team and will have the opportunity to develop your supervision/training skills of junior staff, theatre list management skills, budgetary management and managerial accountability skills under the supervision of the Theatre Manager.

As our Senior Operating Department Practitioner, you will follow hospital guidelines and protocols as you promote best evidence-based practice, always acting as the patient’s advocate. You will ensure the safe custody of medication and controlled drug and that patient care areas are safe, fit for purpose and effectively maintained. You will undertake mandatory surgical checks prior to the start of the procedure, during and pre-wound closure.

You will plan and take the lead to facilitate the running of theatre lists and provide management accountability in the absence of a clinical lead under the supervision of Theatre Manager.

In addition to clinical duties, the direct supervision and training of junior staff will be your responsibility in order to ensure the provision of a high quality and cost-effective service to our patients.

With your competent computer skills, you will accurately enter patient information and contribute to audits within the theatre and the compilation of written documentation.
