We are looking for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to this exciting opportunity to join our learning disability service.

Duties of the job:

• We welcome applications from candidates who are due to gain their professional qualification in 2023 as well as from those with some post-qualification experience. Newly qualified candidates, if successful, will be offered a developmental post, initially at band 7. They will be supported via a bespoke developmental plan, tailored to the successful candidate. They will receive input to develop their competencies and confidence to work with clients who have complex presentations, primarily of behaviour, risk and psychological difficulties. Other specific areas for development will be negotiated. Progress towards re-banding to 8a level will be regularly reviewed and discussed.
• The CLDT is a multidisciplinary team which provides specialist care and treatment to adults with a learning disability. We are working hard to develop a collaborative culture, with a renewed focus on using psychologically-informed formulation to underpin the team’s work.
• This role will involve work with both service users and their systems.  There will be opportunities for teaching and training of other staff, as well as clinical supervision of junior psychologists & other professionals. There is also scope to contribute to the future development of the service and research initiatives.
• The successful candidate must be a driver with access to a vehicle for community visits.
