Description

This exciting Nurse Manager role is to lead a team to support a very complex young lady within her own home. The successful candidate will be a qualified Learning Disabilities Nurse, with experience of supporting individuals with severe LD and behaviours which may challenge. They will also have experience in supporting clients with complex physical health issues, and have worked with primary healthcare professionals to agree pathways with reasonable adjustments for when health needs increase. They will also have some experience of managing a small team, as the role also includes managing the team of support workers. This is a really exciting role as it is a chance to shape and direct a package of care to support a young lady into adulthood, and develop her skills and occupational opportunities to ensure she leads her best life. Once established there will be further opportunities to progress with LDA, and work with a passionate and dynamic team to support more people within their own homes as an alternative to hospital.

Working shifts: Mon-Fri 09.00-17.00, with occasional weekends and evenings as needs arise. Key Responsibilities The specific duties for the RNLD Nurse Manager role will be clearly defined by the LDA Nurse specialist and Operations Manager and will depend upon the needs of the individual client, however they will typically include some or all the following responsibilities:

  • Must be able to stay calm & responsive in potentially stressful situations.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
  • Minimum 2 years experience within an LD nursing role, and current PIN
  • Experience liaising with primary healthcare professionals
  • Some management experience
  • Ability to deal with behaviours which may challenge
  • An understanding of safeguarding and ability to identify safeguarding issues
  • Hold full UK driving licence with access to own car
