Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 6 Biomedical Scientist to join a leading NHS laboratory service on a locum basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team of healthcare professionals, contributing to vital diagnostic services that directly impact patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine and specialist diagnostic testing in one or more of the following areas:
🔬 Biochemistry
🧫 Haematology
🧬 Histology
🧪 Microbiology
Ensure all tests are conducted in accordance with UKAS and ISO standards
Analyse and interpret data accurately, reporting results in a timely manner
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment with diligence
Participate in quality control and assurance processes
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to continuous service improvement

Requirements:

HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist (BMS)
Minimum of 2 years’ post-registration experience
Previous NHS or equivalent laboratory experience
Proficiency in using laboratory information systems (LIMS)
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of COSHH, health & safety, and infection control protocols
